The nice thing about track is that lots of people keep performance lists, and college coaches read the lists. If you can end up near the top in a state XC championship, or near the top of a track performance list for your state, college coaches will notice. At top schools, if you are not on those lists, you won't be scholarship material, but they will still probably have a roster spot. Try to get your coach to enter your team in some invitationals at local colleges. There are lots of big high school meets on Saturdays on college campuses, and lots of coaches show up to scout talent. Also try to get into post-high school season championship meets.
