Serious question:- Does England exist as a legal entity?
Q. So far nobody has answered this and I have asked quite a few people, as have others. Scotland now has a parliament and Wales something similar. We are told that England has appeared on an EU map as "other regions". If England doesn't really exist, this could explain why "regional assemblies" were set up in what we think of as England. Perhaps England ceased to exist when James 6 of Scotland became James 1 of England? I would like to know whether England is just an idea or whether it legally exists, as we presume Scotland and Wales legally exist.

Would you consider voting for the English Democrats?
Q. The chairman of the English Democrats says his party will field at least 120 parliamentary candidates at the next general election. Speaking ahead of the party's annual conference in Kent, Robin Tilbrook told the BBC the party wanted to "break through" into mainstream politics. The party campaigns for an English Parliament and Mr Tilbrook said having one "wouldn't cost anything more". He said scrapping regional assemblies would free up the necessary funds.

A. Their patron is Sun journalist, Gary Bushell. Their London Mayoral candidate Matt O'Connor (founder of Fathers for Justice) withdrew shortly before the 2008 election, claiming in the "East London Advertiser" that the English Democrats had agreed with the England First Party - an avowedly racist breakaway from the British National Party - not to stand against one another. I don't know enough about them to be willing to cast my vote their way, or to rule it out forever, but Gary Bushell isn't someone I consider speaks for me.
